Look For These New Titles To Be Available Soon
Upcoming Releases
Kalevala - Anthology - Shroom has successfully negotiated for an official Kalevala CD. The Anthology CD is to be released in 2003. Material will include rare live recordings from 1970 through 1977 and the reissue of Abraham's Blue Refrain (3rd LP). Everything is currently in production so we should have this soon.
Panamanian Red
Earthforce - Our first venture into music from the UK. Earthforce was an offshoot of a band called The OA Band (before that Ebling Mis) that was led by guitarist Steve Bayfield in 1977. They never released this material back then but as is our specialty, we have taken on this project because we feel the music is pretty awesome. Just think Popul Vuh with some Gongish acid guitar and you would be in the right direction. Get your hookahs out for this one!
A Solstice Song
Wave - An excellent undiscovered 70's hard rock band from Ohio. We received this music recently and just wanted to put a little taste out there. We will hopefully have more news regarding this soon. Until then, enjoy!
Anti Disco Song (Demo)
Stan Lassiter Grupe - Jazz/rock/fusion masterwork featuring reknowned Nashville session man Stan Lassiter on guitars and Roy Vogt (Aurora) on bass with Dale Armstrong on drums. Truly inspirational music that was recorded in 83 and 86 but never released. Fans of Satriani, Montgomery, Vai, Hendrix, and Hackett will eat this up!
Zig Zag
Honest John - Hard rock masterpiece from Rosenberg, TX. 1974/75. Shroom has released a Limited Edition CD of this music but an official release is forthcoming in 2003.
Honest John
Aurora - This song is from the third incarnation of Aurora. It dates to 1977 and sadly was to be the final track recorded by this truly excellent jazz/rock/fusion group. Look for our sampler CD in the next issue of Progression Magazine.
M87
False Prophet - NOW AVAILABLE! This Shroom Limited Edition CD is a killer and not to be missed by anyone into pure, unadulterated acid rock with heavy and melodic sensibilities. The music has elements of early Mahoghany Rush, The Dark, Rush and even a touch of Cream.
Flight of Glowrung
Heyoka – Good news! We are finally going into production on the official Heyoka CD! This music has never been heard or released previously in any form. All I can tell you is that you are in for a real treat! Was it worth the wait? Well if I had my choice it would never have sat on the shelves at all but let's just say for the record that this music still holds up and in fact totally blows away anything you'll hear coming out nowadays. Email us for details.
Pessimist Fled
Hooker – Another Texas rocker, this time from 1974-1978. This material may see the light of day as we have begun the initial stages of production and tape transfer with the help of David, Rob and Robert. The music leans more towards hard rock, think of a western version of Aerosmith, like Blackfoot or Black Oak Arkansas.
Samples
Blown Free - Now available on Shroom Limited Editions, this Houston hard rock band recorded and gigged from 1978-1982. Only one 45 was released (on Excelsior Records- The Wizard/My House) but Shroom has again unearthed a treasure trove of lost music. This one will appeal to fans of heavy 70's style rock and roll with dual guitars (has early 70's Krautrock feel at times) and Texas style riff-bashing.
Baby Come Back
Carnival - Shroom needs the help of the listening audience for this one. Sometime in the later 70's (we believe), a band from Levittown, NY. called Carnival existed. Little is known about them, they did record a full length album that was never released though. This recording is a part of that session, and we need your help in locating members of this band. If information given leads us to somebody from the band, that individual will receive goodies lavished upon them by us.

More News
Todays date: Sept. 26, 2003. Hey wow! A new News update! What the hell has gotten into me? This one only a couple of months since the last. OK, all sarcasm aside, here's the skinny. We are changing things around here. We are probably not going to do any more releases on the Shroom label, more than likely this label will become SHROOMANGEL (as in the website) or simply Angelwing. Since we have formed Angelwing DVD, we may decide to use the name for all CD releases too. OK, now about those CD releases, boy have we got a plethora lined up. Our next release goes to press imminently soon. Roy Vogt's SIMPLICITY CD is a very well rounded jazz and rock effort supported by a who's who of Nashville session men and reknowned players. Roy has played since the mid 70's including Aurora and Stan Lassiter Grupe. We are also working for a 2003 release of the amazing Stan Lassiter Grupe CD. These two projects are currently available as LTD Edition CD-R's until the official CD release becomes a reality. We are making serious progress with the superb Kalevala Anthology which is looking like will happen this year. We are talking about 2CD's worth of fine progressive rock and hard jazz rock circa 1970 through to 1995 and the bands final studio recordings. A complete reissue of Abraham's Blue Refrain is included. Honest John> is on tap for a pressing, the mastered version will include complete bio info and improved audio so don't miss out on it. We just got serious about doing the infamous Hooker material. What can I really say about this one except get ready for a total sonic assault on all your senses, dual guitar and crazed madness ala Ted Nugent on coke meets New York Dolls, I guess. Lastly, we are just starting to get things together for our 2CD Hurdy Gurdy retrospective featuring Claus Bohling. Lots and lots of great unreleased material spanning the entire career of Claus Bohling, the axeman behind such classic bands as Hurdy Gurdy and Secret Oyster. In totally unrelated news, we at Shroom pride ourselves on being able to discover cool stuff from the lost vaults of underground music lore. Our newest discoveries border on the COMPLETELY over the top insane you gotta be joking rarities. OK, you don't believe me? Try this; film footage of early Earth and Fire, Kayak, Brainbox, Focus, Golden Earring, Ekseption and Sandy Coast to name a few. We're talking 1960's vintage. Time's fun when you're having flies.
